About Us

Hi my name is Fran,
I live in Perth, Western Australia, I am married with two children; now young adults.

I have kept dogs for the most part of my life. Growing up on a farm in Araluen we had many dogs, mainly the working-dog group, which included Border Collie’s, Kelpies, Blue Heelers, and many crosses, I had my own female which was a Border Collie Kelpie cross "Mandy", she was a very smart and loyal girl. At the age of 20 I purchased a Sheltie Collie female her name was "Tammy", Tammy went everywhere with me, even when I worked in a office she came to work with me.

In January 2005, it was the younger of my two children final year at High School. I thought it was time to start the search for my perfect dog, for I was going to have a lot of time on my hands, with that I went on the net in dogzonline.com site, in the breed section. I knew I wanted something with the Boarder Collie/Kelpie smarts, but much smaller. I thought hmmm maybe a Corgi, and then I came across the Swedish Vallhund. After a lot of researching I knew the Vallhund was that perfect dog for me.

In May that same year I contacted Sharon Donaldson of Ausled, with emails going back and fourth, I placed my order with her for a female. I happened to be in Melbourne at the same time as the Royal Melbourne Show held towards the end of that year, I arranged to meet Sharon at the show as she was showing her Vallhund. That was the very first time I had ever seen a Swedish Vallhund in the flesh, I was already in love with this breed and now seeing one for the very first time was the icing on the cake. On the 19th of October 2007 my girl arrived in Perth airport; Ausled A Sailor Girl (Tasha).

It did not take me long to realise, I could not stop at just one.

In August 2008 checking out some of my favourite sites I went in the Vallarity site, clicked on her puppy page, and there I saw several beautiful puppies and some nice red ones, just what I wanted. On the 16th of October my boy arrived in Perth airport, Vallarity Twist and Shout (Max). Thank you Lynne Henry.

My dogs are not kennel dogs they are part of our house and family and of course our other pets which include a cat Milo, eclectus parrot Jack, my daughter’s two female ferrets Carmen and Shane, and koi fish, Sheep and hopefully around August a female eclectus, which I will finish off the hand rearing process as I did with Jack, A young pair of Naso Red Tail Black Cockatoo's, our latest is a Euro Wallaroo baby Kangaroo, from the North West of Australia.

In June 2009, we purchased a 5 acre property in the hills of Byford, down one side and accross the back of our proberty is the Darling Range Regional Park. Surrounded by Kangaroo's, Naso Red Tailed Black Cockatoos, Red Capped, Rosella's, and the 28 Parrot, and many different variety of Wrens. Has beautiful Valley and Hill views a winter creek runs down the very bottom. John Farnhams song "A Touch of Paradise" really sums it up. The Vallhunds love it there, soon will be putting a shed on, then we will start building our house, will place photo's on the web as we go.

Whilst watching the DVD that came with Jacqui Bayliss book "A Study of The Swedish Vallhund" with the tears rolling down my cheeks watching her Valls playing and having fun they really touched my heart. These big dogs in a small body are my passion.
My goal is to specialize in these terrific little dogs.
However my greatest goal is to make sure all my puppies go to the right home, in a home environment, not in a Kennel environment. These little guys love being part of the family.

A Special Thank You to Sweden the Origin of this wonderful breed.
